The Marlins (36-0) have now spent seven consecutive weeks atop the national rankings, further cementing their dominance on the national stage. Their current streak is the second-longest active win streak across all NCAA divisions, trailing only Division II's Colorado Christian, and dates back to last season's NCAA Division III Championship series, the last time Virginia Wesleyan tasted defeat.
This past week only reinforced the Marlins' grip on the top spot. Virginia Wesleyan posted a 4-0 record, with three of those victories ending early via run rule. In those contests, the Marlins overwhelmed their opponents, piling up a combined 45-6 scoring margin. The consistent offensive firepower, paired with steady pitching and defense, has made them one of the most complete teams in the country.
Behind Virginia Wesleyan, Trine (23-1) held steady at No. 2 after a perfect week, while Saint Mary's (Minn.) (28-2) climbed to No. 3. East Texas Baptist (31-3) moved into fourth, and Texas Lutheran (32-4) rounded out the top five. Elsewhere in the poll, Linfield dropped from third to eighth after a tough week, while Pacific Lutheran surged into the rankings at No. 21 following a strong showing.
The Marlins' consistency has been unmatched. Week after week, they have not only won, but often done so in decisive fashion, showcasing depth throughout the lineup and a relentless approach at the plate. Their ability to control games early has limited opportunities for opponents to gain momentum, a hallmark of championship-caliber teams.
