The Virginia Wesleyan University baseball team was ranked ninth in the 2026 ODAC Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches. The Marlins received 28 points, behind Washington & Lee with 42 points, and ahead of Eastern Mennonite with 17 points. 

VWU enters the 2026 season after finished with a 12-18 overall record and 8-14 in conference play last spring. The Malrins' own Nick Valentin was named Third Team All-ODAC, and Valentin and Matthew Weber was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team. 

The Marlins open their season on the road on February 13th with a doubleheader at Methodist.
