FOREST, Va. --- ODAC student-athletes not only put forth a banner campaign in their respective athletic arenas, but 2024-25 featured record-breaking academic performances with league stars crushing the previous league benchmark for honorees on the ODAC All-Academic Team.

For the second straight season, more than 3,000 student-athletes among the conference's full-time and associate member sponsorship earned recognition with the 2024-25 contingent boasting 3,364 individuals. That eclipsed the 3,175 set last season.

Virginia Wesleyan was one of the 12 conference members to set their school record with 219 student athletes with a 3.25 GPA this season. Smashing the previous record of 181 from the 2023-24 season. Virginia Wesleyan was ranked sixth in the ODAC behind W&L, Shenandoah, Lynchburg, and Roanoke.

Twelve conference members saw their individual school all-time records reset, an increase by one over last year's 11 standards established. This marks the seventh straight year and eighth of the last nine that the ODAC's overall total has eclipsed 2,000 honorees.

Eligibility for the ODAC All-Academic Team is open to any student-athlete that competes in a conference-sponsored sport, regardless of academic class. Prospective honorees must achieve at least a 3.25 grade point average for the academic year to be considered for ODAC All-Academic Team recognition.

Washington and Lee University set two records for the third straight season. The Generals increased both their individual-school total and ODAC record all-time allotment with 539 honorees, an increase of two over last year's benchmark.

Shenandoah University (358) and the University of Lynchburg (341) joined WLU as conference schools with more than 300 honorees. Both marks represented school records.

Both Virginia Wesleyan University (219) and Guilford College (205) cracked the 200-plateau for the first time with record-setting representation. Randolph-Macon College (281) nearly reached the 300 mark in establishing a new school standard, while Roanoke College (276) and Bridgewater (201) eclipsed 200 honorees.

Averett University (184), Hampden-Sydney College (125), Randolph College (119), and Sweet Briar College (98) each reached new all-time highs for their institutions. The WildCats total marked the first time the school featured more than 100 honorees. Ferrum College (197), EMU (120), and Hollins University (65) each came up just shy of setting new standards.

New to the list in 2024-25 are Berry College (13) and Sewanee (5) as associate members in equestrian. Fellow associates Greensboro (9) and Southern Virginia University (9) also featured.
