Brandon Adair of the Virginia Wesleyan University men's basketball team will be inducted into the the Hampton Roads Sports Hall of Fame. 

The six-person class will be inducted on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 6 p.m. in the Big Blue Room at Chartway Arena. The other inductees are Juanita Etheridge, G. Robert Aston, Jr., Harry Minium Jr., Pat Cavanaugh, and Charles Christian.

Earlier this month Adair was inducted into the new ODAC Hall of Fame. Earlier this year he was inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Virginia Wesleyan Hall of Fame in 2012. 

From Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach, Brandon Adair was a Virginian-Pilot All-Tidewater boys' basketball selection before attending Virginia Wesleyan University where he would rewrite the record books for Marlins men's basketball. During his time at Virginia Wesleyan, Adair would be named ODAC Rookie of the Year in 2004, All-ODAC each of his 4-seasons including 1st Team All-ODAC 3-times (2005-2007) and lead the Marlins to an overall record of 102-22. A key member of back-to-back Final Four teams and an All-American selection in 2006 and 2007, Adair led Virginia Wesleyan to the 2006 NCAA Division-III National Championship, and in the process was named both ODAC and National Player of the Year. As of 2025.

Adair still holds school records for career points (2,100), and field goals made (871), and ranks second in rebounds (871). He also holds the record for most career field goals in ODAC Tournament history and earned Tournament MVP honors in both 2005 and 2006. Following college, he played professionally in Germany and currently works as a Referee in the National Basketball Association (NBA), a role he has held since 2017. Adair becomes the first Virginia Sports Hall of Fame inductee from Virginia Wesleyan University.
