The Virginia Wesleyan University softball team (48-4-1, 21-1) dropped a game to Randolph-Macon 6-2 to force a game two in the NCAA Semifinals.
Olivia Knight led the team going 1-for-2 with a solo home run.
Sarah Prosser was 1-for-3 with a double and scored one run, and teammate
Morgan Tucker was 1-for-2 at bat.
Lauren Bible took the loss as she pitched 0.1 innings, allowed four hits, six runs, and five earned runs.
Emma Adams came in relief and pitched well, going 6.2 innings, allowed five hits, zero runs, and had two strikeouts.
The Yellow Jackets came out hot scoring six runs on six hits in the top of the first inning.

Julia Piotrowski followed with a patient plate appearance, working a full count before drawing a walk to put two on with no outs.
Morgan Tucker kept the rally going by showing great discipline at the plate, earning another walk to load the bases. That brought up
Mackenzie Myers, who came through with a key at-bat. She reached on a fielder's choice to left field, driving in Prosser from third to put Virginia Wesleyan on the board.
VWU scored another run in the second inning off a solo home run from
Olivia Knight to bring the score to 6-2. However, the Marlins were unable to score the rest of the game to seal the 6-2 for Randolph-Macon.
Game two against No. 23 Randolph-Macon will begin today at 5 pm EST with the winner qualifying for the NCAA DIII Softball National Championship Final.
