Bible and Campbell Receives NFCA All-American Honors

The Virginia Wesleyan University softball team had two players; Laci Campbell and Lauren Bible At-Large to NFCA Third Team All-American for their athletic performance this season.

This is the Marlins 20th and 21st All-American in program history. The last player from the Virginia Wesleyan softball team to earn this award was in 2021 when three Marlins; Jessica Goldyn, Hannah Hull, and Emily Seale received the award when the Marlins won their third National Championship.  

Laci Campbell was awarded ODAC Player of the Year, All-ODAC First Team, and First Team All-Region, she had a great season starting all 50 games for the Marlins, had a .392 batting average, 51 hits, two doubles, three triples, and two home runs, to total 33 RBI. She led the league in scoring with 64 runs, stole a league-high 50 bases, and was only struck out two times in 130 at bats, with a .500 slugging percentage, with an OPS of 1.009.

Lauren Bible this season was named First Team All-ODAC and NFCA First Team All-Region has posted an ODAC best 25-1 record, 10 complete games, with three shut outs, and one save through 141.2 innings pitched. She allowed 83 hits, 42 runs, 32 earned runs, 77 strikeouts, and held opponents to a .168 batting average, and had a 1.58 ERA.
