Men's Basketball Ranked No. 14 in D3hoops Preseason Poll

The Virginia Wesleyan University men's basketball team was ranked No. 14 in the D3hoops.com National Preseason Poll. 

Last season, the Marlins went 22-7 overall and 12-4 in the ODAC to claim the #4 Seed in the ODAC Championship Tournament, where they lost to the eventual Champions, #5 Seed Guilford. VWU's season didn't end there, as they qualified for the ECAC Championship Tournament, where they were Crowned ECAC Champions for the first time in school history with a 74-50 win over Salisbury. Omari DeVeaux was named MVP of the Tournament as Amari Moorer and Khai Seargeant were selected to the All-Tournament team. 

Virginia Wesleyan has built a strong schedule for the 2025-26 season, as they played Keene State (RV) to begin their season, they play the winner of No. 7 Wisc.-La Crosse vs. No. 17 Hampden-Sydney. Then, they travel to play against Rival No. 9 CNU on December 16th and On Jan. 3 they take on Franklin and Marshall (RV). At the beginning of ODAC play the Marlins will battle No. 10 Roanoke on Jan. 17th, followed by No. 2 Randolph-Macon on Jan. 21st, and No. 17 Hampden-Sydney on Jan. 28th. Virginia Wesleyan will end the season on the road No. 2 Randolph-Macon on Feb. 18th. 

The 2025-26 campaign will open on Nov. 6, as VWU hosts Keene State in the Townebank Tipoff Tournament.
