Virginia Wesleyan University mens tennis started the Spring season with a dual match against Christopher Newport University.
The match was slated to be played outside but after unexpected rain, it was moved indoors at James River Country Club.
The Marlins begun doubles play strong and had a brake on both court 1 and 2 but were unable to hold off the Captains and lost both matches 8-5. The third doubles pair of Francis Cabaddu and Tudor Vlad also lost 8-3.
In singles competition, the Marlins were unable to change the momentum. The Captains closed the match when Rafael Rullan Zarraga and Carlos Rullan Zarraga fell at the #2 and #4 positions in 2 sets.
