The Virginia Wesleyan University Overwatch team won their first NACE Championship. 

The Marlins were 5-2 in the regular season to clinch the #3 seed in the NACE Playoffs. In the quarterfinals, they faced the #6 seed Ashland for an easy 3-0 victory. In the semifinals, the Marlins went up against the #2 seed Albright Red, who had defeated the Marlins 3-1 in the regular season finale, but won due to forfeit to head to the finals. 

Then, the Marlins battled the #1 seed Triton, who they had lost to in the first game of the regular season. Both teams had improved throughout the season and finally met in the NACE finals. On the first map, the Marlins came out on top gaining the first point of the match. Triton played good defense but a tactical switch from the Marlins changed the momentum and Virginia Wesleyan emerged victorious winning 3-1. 

Andrew Zamor reflects on the tournament saying, "I am happy we won. Being able to give everything I had in my senior year, to finish my career with a championship is such an amazing accomplishment, and I am so proud of the way we performed as a team."
