The Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team (12-3-3, 7-2-1 ODAC) finished regular season play with a 2-0 win over the Hampden-Sydney Tigers.
Ben Haynes held down the goal for the Marlins, making three saves and allowing no goals. Juan Tova and
Ilan Mejia each scored a goal.
The game was evenly contested with both teams tallying ten shots each throughout the game. Hampden-Sydney accumulated five different corner kick opportunities but could not execute because the Marlins defense was too strong.
Juan Tovar scored the first goal of the night over the head of the Tigers goalie to put the Marlins ahead 1-0 with just over five minutes remaining in the first half.

Ilan Mejia who finished in the net for the second goal of the night to secure the Marlin win in the 72nd minute of the game.
The 3rd seeded Marlins will host 6th seeded Shenandoah for the ODAC quarterfinals on Saturday, November 2nd.
