Second-Half Push Gives Marlins 4-0 Win over Neumann

The Virginia Wesleyan University field hockey team (2-3) defeated Neumann 4-0 with four goals in the second half. 

Katherine Druiett recorded two goals in the game with six shots on goal to lead the Marlins, Clair Wagner had one goal in the game, and Lauren Hedspeth registered one goal in the win. 

DJ Holsclaw got the win to improve to 2-2 on the year. 

Despite the Marlins dominating possession Virginia Wesleyan was tied 0-0 at halftime. VWU had five shots on net compared to the Knights 0. 

In the second half, the Marlins finally found the back of the net after the ball bounced around the circle and found the stick of Clair Wagner who slotted the ball past the keeper to take a 1-0 lead. Virginia Wesleyan doubled their advantage in the 45th minute of play, with a great solo goal from Lauren Hedspeth

Virginia Wesleyan went into the fourth quarter up 2-0, but the Marlins weren't done yet as Katherine Druiett scored two goals. The first in the 52nd minute, and the second coming in the 54th minute was assisted by Willow Baker, to give the Marlins a 4-0 lead.
