The Marlins almost tied the game in the fourth inning when Alison Pollack walked, followed by Julia Piotrowski hitting a sacrifice bunt to advance Pollack to second and aggressive running advanced her to third. Alison Pollack grounded out to move the runners to second and third for Julia Piotrowski who hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score Campbell to give Virginia Wesleyan a 2-0 lead.

The Yellow Jackets responded, scoring their first run off a single to left field, followed by a three-run homer to take a 4-2 win.
