The Virginia Wesleyan University softball team (23-7, 7-3 ODAC) takes two against conference opponent Randolph, winning game one 11-3 and game two 4-1.
Laci Campbell led the team as she went 4-for-5 at-bat with a triple, scored two runs, and tallied four RBI,
Caitlin Myers went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple, scored one run, and recorded three RBI, and
Alison Pollack went 2-for-7 with a home run, scored two runs, and had two RBI.
Game One:
After two scoreless innings, the Marlins' offense exploded and scored 10 runs.
Laci Campbell hit a lead-off single to center field and stole second before
Sarah Prosser hit a single through the left side and scored Campbell on an error by the left fielder. Then,
Alison Pollack singled to left field to score Prosser from second.
Autumn Boothe reached on a throwing error by the third baseman that scored Pollack to lead 3-0.
Emma Adams walked to put runners on first and second before
Caitlin Myers tripled that scored the runners.
Brooke Anderson singled to left center to score Myers from third to take a 6-0 lead.
Halee Hawkins singled to left field that forced a pitching change from the Wildcats. After a double steal from Hawkins and Anderson, Campbell tripled to right field and scored both Hawkins and Anderson, and Campbell scored on an error by the third baseman to take a 9-0 lead. Pollack hit a solo shot to the left-center to lead 10-0.
The Wildcats chipped away at Virginia Wesleyan's lead scoring two in the fourth and one in the fifth. However, the Marlins added one more run in the sixth inning. Pollack was hit by a pitch to reach first, then
Julia Piotrowski tripled to center field to score Pollack which sealed the 11-3 win over Randolph.
Emily Seale registered the win in the circle, pitched 4.0 innings, allowed two runs on one hit, and tallied four strikeouts.

Game Two:
The Wildcats struck first in game two, scoring on a sacrifice fly in the top of the second to take a 1-0 lead. However, the Marlins responded with two runs in the bottom of the second as
Autumn Boothe hit a lead-off single up the middle.
Jenna Laird pinch ran for Boothe and stole second before
Emma Adams singled through the left side advancing Laird to third.
Caitlin Myers hit a sacrifice fly to center field that scored Laird and tied the game at 1-1.
Brooke Anderson walked to put runners at first and second, then
Laci Campbell singled up the middle to score the pinch runner Himes to take a 2-1 lead.
VWU added two more runs in the sixth inning.
Emma Adams was hit by a pitch and pinch runner
Emily Halloway stole second base.
Caitlin Myers grounded out second to move Halloway to third for
Brooke Anderson who doubled to left center that scored Halloway.
Laci Campbell hit an RBI single to score Anderson from second and give the Marlins a 4-1 lead.
Lauren Bible recorded the win in the circle, in relief, she pitched 4.0 innings, allowed zero runs, four hits, and struck out three.
