The Virginia Wesleyan University softball team (21-5, 5-1 ODAC) cruised past ODAC opponent Guilford 8-0 in five innings and 5-0 in game two.
Brooke Anderson did well at the plate going 4-for-6 with a double, scoring three runs, and three RBI, and teammate
Emily Seale pitched her seventh shutout of the season, 5.0 innings, allowed four hits, and tallied three strikeouts.
Game One:
The Marlins scored in the second inning as Anderson singled to center field and stole second, followed by an RBI double from
Sarah Prosser down the left field line to take a 1-0 lead.
Virginia Wesleyan rallied in the third inning scoring seven runs.
Julia Piotrowski singled to left center and stole second to start the inning. Then,
Emma Adams singled down the left-field line to score Piotrowski.
Brooke Anderson singled to left center with the bases loaded to score
Makiya Himes to give the Marlins a 3-0 lead. Next, Campbell walked to score
Emily Tucker from third, and
Sarah Prosser singled to the catcher to score
Olivia Knight to extend VWU's lead to 5-0. Piotrowski tripled to left center to score Prosser, Campbell, and Anderson to seal the 8-0 win for the Marlins.

Sarah Prosser went 2-for-4 with a double, scored one run, and had two RBI, and
Brooke Anderson went 2-for-3, scored twice, and recorded one RBI.

Game Two:
Sarah Prosser wasted no time in game two as she hit a lead-off single to right field and stole second.
Alison Pollack grounded out to the pitched to move Prosser to third, and
Autumn Boothe singled to center field to score Prosser and give Virginia Wesleyan.
The Marlins didn't score again until the fourth inning.
Julia Piotrowski walked and stole second. Then,
Emma Adams flew out to the right field to advance Piotrowski to third, and
Olivia Knight walked and stole second to put two runners in scoring position.
Lauren Bible came up with two runners on and hit an RBI single to right field.
Brooke Anderson doubled to right center scoring Knight and Bible. Then,
Laci Campbell singled through the right side to score Anderson and extend the Marlins' lead to 5-0.
Bible came in relief for starter
Emma Adams and got the win in the circle pitching 5.0 innings, allowing two hits, and struck out three.
