The Virginia Wesleyan University baseball team (3-12-1, 2-1-1 ODAC) drop game two of the series against Eastern Mennonite 9-2.
The Royals scored two runs to start the game, but the Marlins responded with one run as
Samuel Kasprow tripled to right center field, and
Trent Hanchey ground out to first base scoring Kasprow from third.
Eastern Mennonite recorded three runs in the second inning to take a 5-1 lead over the Marlins after two innings.
The Royals scored two more runs in the fourth to take a 7-1 lead. The Marlins responded with a run in the fifth.
Jaelen Hines reached on an error by the first baseman. Kasprow and
Trent Hanchey were hit by a pitch to load up the bases for
Matt Sinko hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score Hines from third.
The Royals scored two more runs in the ninth to seal the 9-2 win.
Samuel Kasprow went 2-for-4 with one double, and one triple, and scored one run, and
Jaelen Hines went 1-for-4 and scored one run.
Connor Mock took the loss on the mound, he pitched 2.0 innings, allowed five runs, on seven hits, and registered three strikeouts.
