Men's Soccer (9-2, 3-2 ODAC) traveled to Ashland, VA today to take on Randolph-Macon College 3-2.
The match started off highly contested by both teams. But the Yellow Jackets struck first in the 10th minute with an early goal to put Randolph-Macon up 1-0.
In the 16th minute,
Ilan Mejia played midfielder
Alex Moody an excellent ball. Moody then finished the ball into the back of the net to tie the game 1-1.
The Marlins kept up the pressure offensively and scored another goal in the 27th minute. Defender
Josh Condit assisted
Zach Bittler which put the Marlins up 2-1.
The rest of the half didn't have many major plays, giving the Marlins a 2-1 lead at halftime.
The Marlin's offense started off shooting and even drew a couple of corner kicks. But eventually, in the 58th minute,
Josh Condit scored a goal off of a pass from first-year player
JaMarhe Wills to put the Marlins up 3-1.
After a few substitutions by the Yellow Jackets, Randolph-Macon ended up scoring a goal in the 65th minute to put the score at 3-2.
The Marlins' defense held up for the rest of the game which resulted in a win for Virginia Wesleyan University.
The Marlins will return home on October 7th to face the Maroons of Roanoke College at 1:00 PM.
