Men's soccer (10-2, 4-2 ODAC) defeated Roanoke College 2-0 in a tightly contested game with constant rain throughout.
The first goal of the game came right after the starting kickoff. In the 1st minute,
Josh Condit shot a skyline ball from midfield which went past the goalkeeper's gloves and into the back of the net to make the score 1-0.
The Marlin's attack started off strong with
Zach Bittler,
Alex Moody,
Nate Mitchell, and
Ilan Mejia being key factors. In the 18th minute,
Ilan Mejia placed an intelligent cross to
Nate Mitchell who then dribbled into the box and scored to put the Marlins up 2-0.
In the second half the rain fell even harder and the game turned into a pretty defensive game, that sealed the Marlins shutout.
The Marlins will remain at home on Wednesday, October 11th when they take on Averett University at 6:00 PM.
