VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan fell to the No. 12 Profs of Rowan University 18-3 in the final game of the three game series.

Rowan scored first in the top of the first inning as a single to left field drove in the RBI putting the Profs up 1-0. The Marlins responded in the bottom half of the inning as Jaelen Hines, who reached base on a triple to right center, came home on a Ronaldo Del Duca double to left center field evening the score at one all.
The Profs added single runs in the top of the second and third innings to go ahead 3-1. After a scoreless inning for both teams in the fourth, Rowan let loose in the top of the fifth scoring eight runs taking an 11-1 lead.
Neither team scored in the sixth while the Profs extended their lead in the seventh and eighth with seven more runs driving their total up to 18.
VWU held RU off the board in the top of the ninth and added a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning as both Zion Ross and John Bastiaans scored on a fielding error by the second baseman during an Isaiah Jones at bat that put the final score at 18-3.

Virginia Wesleyan returns to action on Wednesday, March 9, when they head down to Rocky Mount, NC for a midweek nonconference contest against the North Carolina Wesleyan Battling Bishops. First pitch in the battle of the Wesleyan's is set for 2 PM.
