Box Score 2 VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The No. 3 Virginia Wesleyan softball team swept the Eagles of Juniata College in a Sunday doubleheader at Tom and Betty Broyles Field at TowneBank Park in Virginia Beach, VA.

INSIDE THE SCORE
The first three innings of the game were scoreless for both teams. It wasn't until the bottom of the fourth inning when the Marlins broke through and put two runs on the board to take the 2-0 lead. A single up the middle by Autumn Boothe drove in a pair of RBI to score Julia Piotrowski and Haleigh Settle.
VWU added two more to their tally in the bottom of the fifth as Maria Weddle and Jaya Diggs-Hagwood came home on an error during a Caitlin Myers at-bat putting the score at 4-0.
The Marlins let loose in the sixth inning scoring four more runs to win the game in six innings. Karlee Fretz came home following an error on an Abigail Craige at-bat. A Halee Hawkins ground out to shortstop scored Boothe for run two of the inning. Krissy D'Arco came home on a muffed throw out by the catcher and an single by C. Myers drove in Emily Halloway for the final run of the game.

INSIDE THE SCORE
After a scoreless first inning for both teams, the Marlins scored the first run of the game as first baseman Karlee Fretz hit a solo home run over the left field wall in the bottom of the second inning.
Neither team put a un on the board over the next three innings until the Eagles scored a solo run in the top of the sixth inning. VWU responded in the bottom of the sixth with a single run as Madison Hudson hit a sac fly to left field which scored Mikaya Himes from third to give VWU the 2-1 lead.
