- Virginia Wesleyan got things started scoring a single run in the top halves of the first and second innings while keeping Mary Washington off the board. Scoring for the Marlins were Jessica Goldyn, whole reached base on a double to center in the first inning, and Karlee Fretz in the second giving VWU a 2-0 lead early.
- The newly ranked No. 1 Marlins had a BIG third inning as they posted seven runs against the Eagles to take a 9-0 advantage. The inning saw Julia Sinnett, Danielle Stewart, Katelyn Biando, Krissy D'Arco, Ariana Rolle, Jessica Goldyn, and Madison Glaubke all cross home plate. Glaubke recorded two RBI on a home run over the left field wall, while Rolle and Goldyn also drove in two RBI each on singles to center field.
- The Marlins final run of the game came in the top of the fifth inning as a Kayla Womack double scored Haleigh Settle to put VWU up 10-0.
- After keeping the Eagles off the board in the bottom half of the inning the Marlins won 10-0 in five innings per mercy rules.

- The Marlins again got things going in the first inning with a single run scored by Jessica Goldyn who stole her way around to third and scored on a Julia Sinnett groundout, however the Eagles responded in the bottom of the second to take a 2-1 lead.
- VWU knotted the score at two all in the top of the third as Ariana Rolle came home on a Goldyn groundout.
- Karlee Fretz in the top of the fourth broke the stalemate with a solo homerun giving VWU the 3-2 lead.
- After going scoreless in the fifth, Virginia Wesleyan's bats came alive in the top of the sixth inning as five runs came across the plate for the visiting Marlins.
- The first two runs scored on a Fretz double to center field driving in Katelyn Biando and Makenzie Watts. Julie Fassl drove in Kayla Womack, who went in to pinch run for Fretz, fir the third run while Fassl came home on a single by Rolle. Rolle later came home for the last score of the inning after setaling third and advancing on an overthrown caught stealing attempt.
- UMW added a single run in the bottom of the sixth putting the score at 8-3, but VWU answered again in the top of the seventh this time with a pair of runs scored by Madison Glaubke and Julia Sinnett putting the final score at 10-3 Marlins win.
KEY STATS
- Karlee Fretz led the team with three RBI on three hits.
- Nine different Marlins crossed home plate with Ariana Rolle leading at two runs scored.
- Hanna Hull (W: 10-2) picked up the win throwing five innings during which she gave up just two runs on five hits while fanning 11 of 22 batters faced in her return to the circle.
