ASHLAND, Virginia - Sweet sweet redemption. The No. 6 seeded Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team defeated the No. 3 seeded Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon College 1-0 on Saturday evening at the R-MC Soccer Field in Ashland, VA.

FIRST HALF
- The Marlins struck early as they found a goal off the foot of Nate Mitchell three and a half minutes into the contest.
- VWU held off RMC the remainder of the first half despite the Yellow Jackets getting off 13 shots to the Marlins five.
SECOND HALF
- Neither Virginia Wesleyan or Randolph-Macon found a goal in the second half as the Marlins got redemption for the 2-1 loss they took earlier in the season to the Yellow Jackets.
