Randolph College (13-5/0-0) will open its ODAC schedule in Virginia Beach on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. Freshman Kate Hodgkiss is off to an impressive start to her college career as she leads the WildCats in at bats and average as she is hitting .444 with five doubles. Junior Brittany Campbell is hitting .465 with 14 RBI. Lindsey Chaney (4-2) has a 2.13 ERA and will look to stop the Marlin offense in the circle on Saturday.
Shenandoah University (4-8/0-0) will also open up ODAC play as they travel to face the Marlins on March 26 for a doubleheader slated to start at noon. The Hornets have lost five out of their last six contests, but will look to Lindsey Corbin to replace the offensive production that was lost with the graduation of 2016 ODAC Player of the Year Kimberly Brady. Corbin is currently hitting .468 with three home runs and 21 RBI. The Hornet pitching staff is made up of all underclassmen with freshmen Katherine Seidl (1-4, 6.52 ERA) and Elizabeth Everette (1-3, 3.68 ERA) getting the majority of innings.
The overpowering Marlin offense is currently hitting .389 with 19 home runs in 20 games while slugging .593. Kiersten Richardson will look to continue to set the pace for the offense out of the lead off spot as she is hitting .463 with an ODAC-leading 24 stolen bases and slugged her first home run of the season this past weekend. Cassetty Howerin is continuing her tear at the plate as she is hitting .517 with seven home runs and 28 RBI where she leads the ODAC in each category.
Hanna Hull (9-1) and Courtney Wright (7-0) will look to continue their stellar freshman campaigns in the circle for the Marlins. Hull currently leads the ODAC in wins (9), ERA (0.25), and strikeouts (102).
