Ryan joined the Virginia Wesleyan Field Hockey coaching staff in the summer of 2022 following the completion of her degree at VWU.
In the 2023 season, the team improved immensely improving to 7-11 overall and 3-6 in the ODAC. They played three Top-25 Nationally Ranked teams, CNU, Lynchburg, and Shenandoah. This season, she had two players on the All-Conference team, Katherine Druiett was named Second Team, and Lauren Hedspeth was Third Team.
A four-year varsity letter winner, Westpfahl appeared in 41 games, primarily on defense. She did record four goals and two assists in her career on 23 shot attempts.
