Dan Moriarty

  • Title
    Graduate Intern
Dan Moriarty enters his first season on staff at Virginia Wesleyan University in 2025-26 as the Offensive Coordinator. Known for his innovative offensive systems, he has constructed and implemented offenses that have achieved top-10 and top-20 national rankings in multiple statistical categories. He has developed three separate 90+ point scorers at three different Division III programs, including one who surpassed 100 points in a single season and one who led the country in Man-Up Goals at the end of the regular season.

As a coach who has replicated success wherever he has been, Moriarty has implemented offenses that featured three or more players surpassing 60+ points in the same season at three separate stops. Across his career, he has served as a Head Coach, Associate Head Coach, and Offensive Coordinator, consistently elevating programs and producing All-Conference and All-American talent. At every stop, his programs have taken measurable steps forward — he has never had a team post a worse record than the year before, with each season showing statistical growth and improved results in the win/loss column, whether as a Head Coach or an Assistant.

His head coaching experience includes Wilmington College, Marian University, and the University of Southern California (MCLA). He also served as an assistant at Western Connecticut State, Southwestern University, and Alderson Broaddus (DII), where he played key roles in building and improving each program.

As a player, Moriarty was the 2011 Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year, First Team All-Region III Midfielder, and an NJCAA All-American nominee at Herkimer CC. He went on to compete at NCAA Division II powerhouse Adelphi University, where he was part of two Final Four teams in 2013 and 2014. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from Adelphi University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Arts Leadership and Nonprofit Organization at Virginia Wesleyan.
