Brady Long joins the Virginia Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse staff for the 2025-26 season as Assistant Coach and Defensive Coordinator. A former standout defenseman at Division I Bellarmine University, Long brings extensive defensive knowledge, leadership, and competitive experience to the program.

During his collegiate career (2022–2025), Long appeared in 68 games with 62 starts, accumulating 125 ground balls and 67 caused turnovers, making him tied for 7th all time for ground balls and 3rd all time in caused turnovers in a career.  Long consistently anchored the defense, extended a consecutive games started streak to 59, caused turnovers in critical games, and delivered career-high performances in ground balls and defensive stops in multiple contests. Knowing he wanted to coach at the collegiate level, Brady also worked multiple camps and coached club teams throughout his years as a player at Bellarmine, gaining early experience in player development and coaching fundamentals.

Prior to college, Long was a standout at Lenape High School in New Jersey, where he earned All-American honors in 2021, establishing himself early as one of the top defensive talents in the nation.

As a coach, Long is committed to building disciplined, high-performing defensive units, emphasizing fundamentals, situational awareness, and communication. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Administration from Bellarmine University and is currently enrolled at Virginia Wesleyan University for Masters of Arts in Arts Leadership and Nonprofit Management. Long is dedicated to bringing the same competitive mindset, leadership, and work ethic to Virginia Wesleyan as he begins his coaching career.
