Katie Zaslaw joined the Virginia Wesleyan University Athletics staff as the assistant swimming coach in September of 2024, this will be her first season with the Marlins Swimming program.
Prior to joining VWU, Katie Zaslaw was a Development Coordinator with a diverse background in administrative support, event planning, and community engagement. She joined The Network in January 2024, where she expertly manages the CEO’s calendar, communicates with donors, and oversees donor events across the U.S. Her attention to detail and strong organizational skills ensure smooth operations, allowing the organization to cultivate meaningful relationships with supporters.
Before joining The Network, Katie honed her administrative and legal skills as a Case Assistant/Paralegal at McGuireWoods, where she supported a partner attorney by managing schedules, preparing legal documents, and conducting thorough research using platforms like LEXIS and Westlaw. Her experience in fast-paced environments has equipped her with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Katie’s passion for community outreach is evident from her time as a Governor’s Fellow in the Office of the First Lady of Virginia, where she assisted with public engagements and crafted communications that connected the First Lady with constituents. She also has experience as a Social Media Manager for various organizations, driving engagement and enhancing brand awareness through creative content and strategic outreach.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Katie holds a degree in International Relations from the University of Michigan, where she excelled academically and was an active member of the Women’s Varsity Rowing Team. Her commitment to service extends beyond her career; she has volunteered with organizations such as C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Athletes for Community Transformation, reflecting her dedication to making a positive impact in her community.
