Nicole Morgan begins her fifth season as assistant coach of the field hockey team in 2017 after a successful collegiate playing career.
Morgan was a four-year member of the Appalachian State University field hockey team. She was named a First-team All-NorPac Conference as a junior and senior. She was named Offensive Player of the Year - East Coast in the NorPac in 2010-11. Morgan ranked fourth on the team in scoring as a sophomore, third as a junior and first as a senior. She is currently ranked seventh among ASU's all-time leaders in assists (9) and 10th in career points (51). Her performance awarded her a spot as a forward/midfielder for the USA National field hockey team that competed in the PanAm Games in 2012.
She competed for Virginia Beach's Salem High School team where she was the team's Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year as a junior and senior. She also competed in soccer, track and field, and swimming at Salem. She is a former member of the Spartan Elite Club field hockey team, playing U16 and U19 at the National Indoor tournament for three years.
Morgan also has prior coaching experience, serving as the former varsity field hockey coach at Norfolk Collegiate School. She was the former middle school and junior varsity field hockey coach, as well as a substitute physical education teacher, at Norfolk Academy.
She is currently employed by OneLife Fitness as a personal trainer.
Morgan graduated from Appalachian State in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in health physiology with a minor in exercise science.
