The Virginia Wesleyan University softball team (32-7, 20-2 ODAC) defeated the #4 seed Lynchburg 6-0.

Emma Adams pitched a complete 7.0 inning game, allowed zero runs, five hits, and recorded six strikeouts.

The scoring began early for Virginia Wesleyan in the first inning. Mackenzie Myers kicked things off with a single to left field, bringing home Sarah Prosser. Shortly after, Alison Pollack doubled to center field, allowing Myers to score, putting Virginia Wesleyan up 2-0.

The Marlins extended their lead in the second inning, when Prosser singled to shortstop, bringing in Karley Beltran, courtesy of an unearned run.

The third inning saw another run for VWU as Joslyn Woodard grounded out, allowing Pollack to advance to third while Olivia Knight scored, extending their lead to 4-0.

In the fourth inning, Myers doubled to right center, driving in Laci Campbell and Prosser, further solidifying their lead at 6-0.
