Virginia Wesleyan Shuts Out Lebanon Valley in 9-0 Win

The Virginia Wesleyan University softball team (37-8, 20-2 ODAC) defeated Lebanon Valley 9-0 in game three of the 2024 NCAA Softball Regional Tournament Hosted by Virginia Wesleyan. 

Alison Pollack led the lead as she was 2-for-3 with a triple, and tallied a team-high three RBI, Mackenzie Myers was 2-for-3 with two doubles, scored one run, and had two RBI, and Sarah Prosser was 2-for-4, scored two runs, had one RBI, and stole a base. 

On the pitching front, Emma Adams of Virginia Wesleyan secured her 21st win, pitching five innings, allowing four hits, no runs, one walk, and striking out one. Julia Piotrowski pitched the final inning, allowing no hits and striking out one. 

A massive seven-run second inning highlighted Virginia Wesleyan's victory. Olivia Knight initiated the scoring when Karley Beltran walked with the bases loaded. Sarah Prosser then singled to drive in another run, followed by Laci Campbell's single up the middle, bringing in two more runs. Alison Pollack capped off the inning with a triple down the left-field line, clearing the bases and extending the lead to 7-0.

In the sixth inning, Mackenzie Myers doubled to left center, driving in Sarah Prosser and Laci Campbell to solidify the 9-0 victory.
