This paved the way for a sacrifice fly by Emma Adams, that drove home Campbell from third. Olivia Knight unleashed a triple, driving in Myers and extending the lead to 3-0 in the opening frame.

The Marlins continued to pile on the pressure, adding runs in the third, fourth, and fifth innings. Knight's bat remained hot, as she contributed with a single in the third, bringing in Myers for another run. Beltran doubled in the fourth and scored on two wild pitches to increase VWU's lead to 5-0. In the fifth inning, Myers led off with a double to right center field, followed by a single up the middle from Adams to score Myers and put the Marlins up 6-0.
