The Virginia Wesleyan University men's soccer team (12-2-1, 6-2-1 ODAC) win their second game in a row by the score of 1-0, as they held on against Guilford College.
The Marlins insinuated an attack early. In the 5th minute,
Ilan Mejia took a shot that went over the goal, and then
Nolan Schulte shot low and was saved by the goalkeeper.
The Marlins were also awarded two corner kicks in the 8th minute to keep the Quakers' defense on their heels.
In the 1st half, both sides played overly aggressively as the Marlins were awarded 10 fouls, and the Quakers were awarded nine fouls.
The score was even at halftime at 0-0.
In the 68th minute, a bouncing ball came towards defender
JaMarhe Wills. Wills then hit a pass to
Robert Reynolds who headed the ball over the goalkeeper's gloves and into the net.
The Marlins' defense was able to hold the Quakers' attack to no goals for the remainder of the game.

With this 1-0 win, goalie
Jordan Smith is awarded his 5th shutout on the season.
The Marlins will return home to host Eastern Mennonite University on Saturday, October 21st at 3:30 PM.
