Men's XC Takes Second While Lattuca Places First

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University men's cross country team ran at the Christopher Newport University XC Invite Saturday afternoon. The squad captured second place, placing three in the top-10 of collegiate runners.

Having an impressive junior season already, Skyler Lattuca was able to add another first place finish to his resume as he led all runners in the 8K. Lattuca clocked a 25:57.73, which was nearly 13 seconds faster than the next runner and 1:07 seconds faster than any other collegiate runner.

Next to cross the finish line for the Marlins was Jordan Sulcer who placed 11th overall with a time of 28:02.04. He was followed closely by Michael Tres, whose time of 28:06.30 placed him in 12th. Also finishing in the top half was Trey Massey, who claimed 21st overall as he clocked a time of 29:29.25.

Men's cross country will return to action again on Nov. 2nd as the team heads back to Salem, Va. for the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships.
