VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University volleyball team swept Ferrum, 3-0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-20), Saturday morning in the Jane P. Batten Student Center. With the victory, the Marlins improve to 18-6 on the year and 7-1 in conference play. Ferrum falls to 3-15 on the year and remain winless in ODAC play (0-8).

The Marlins offense was rolling all match as the team finished with a .310 hitting percentage. Amber Matalus was extremely proficient as she racked up 12 kills on 14 attempts. Elizabeth Britton led the team though with 13 on the day.
Defensively, the Marlins posted a solid effort as well as they held their opponent to just an .082 hitting percentage. Ten blocks helped that performance, including three from Matalus. Britton pitched in as well, finishing the day with a team-high 14 digs.
Volleyball will return to action again at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday as the team hosts Bridgewater.
