ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Virginia Wesleyan University volleyball team took down North Carolina Wesleyan College, 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-16), on the road Tuesday evening. With the win, the Marlins move to 15-8 on the year while the Battling Bishops move to 8-21.
Everything was in full swing for the Marlins as they did not allow NCWC above the 20-point mark, while keeping their opponents to a season low negative-.030 kill percentage. Offensively, the Marlins were led Kristina Scott who had eight kills on the evening. Right behind her was fellow senior Doneisha Hall who garnered seven.
Donning the libero jersey, Alyssa Taylor was solid in the back row as she registered a team-high 13 digs.
Volleyball will return to action at on Friday as it travels to play at the Christopher Newport Tournament. The team will square off against host Chris. Newport at 3 p.m. before battling Averett University at 7 p.m.
