Women fall to Univ. of St. Thomas 9-0

Hilton Head, Sc. - The Virgina Wesleyan University women's tennis team fell to central region power University of St. Thomas 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon in Hilton Head, SC.

In doubles, the Marlins dropped all three matches 8-0, 8-1 and 8-2 at #1, #2 and #3 respectively.  

In singles, freshman Courtney Simmons (Reevsville, SC) battled battled to a 6-4 second set defeat after dropping the first 6-1.  At #6, junior Kristina Sabelstrom  (Colorado Springs, CO) battled hard in to a 6-0, 6-3 loss. 

With the loss the Marlins fall to 7-5 on the season.  VWU will next take on Randolph College at the Everett Tennis Center on Saturday April 7th at 1 PM.
