Strong Showing in Season Opener for Women's Golf

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University women's golf team had two Marlins compete in the two-day Bridgewater Fall Invitational at Lakeview Country Club. Both Maggie Kingora and Ashlee Bobzin finished in the top-25 after the two-round Invite.

Kingora had a terrific opening to her 2019-20 season, placing 11th overall. The senior shot an 81 on day one before slicing two strokes off (and moving up two positions) on day two. She would finish the entire tournament with a score of 160 (+16).

Bobzin also saw herself move up from round one to round two as she finished in a tie for 28th on Monday and ended in a tie for 25th. The sophomore Shot a 90 on the opening day before shaving it down to an 87 on day two.

Women's golf will return to action again on Saturday as the team heads to Ashland, Va. for the two-day Randolph-Macon Fall Invite.
