GLEN ALLEN, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University women's golf team put on a solid display at the Max and Susan Stith Invite on Monday. Due to rain on day one, the squad played an abbreviated 27 holes on day two.
Maggie Kingora impressed again this season, turning in the lowest Marlin score at the end of the day. The sophomore shot an 89 in the full 18 holes, before turning in a 41 in the nine-hole second round. Her combined score of 130 put her in a tie for sixth place overall.
Not far behind her was teammate Hannah Turner, whose combined score of 143 put her in a tie for 17th place. The junior turned in a 93 over 18 holes before shooting a 50 on the nine hole set.
Women's golf will return to action on April 7 as the squad will compete in the Hollins Invitational.
