Women's Basketball Drops Championship Game to Eagles

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University Women's Basketball team dropped their game against Mary Washington 73-37 in the Hyatt Place Tip-Off Tournament. With the result, the Marlins move to 1-2 on the year while the eagles improve to 3-1. 

The Eagles jumped out in front early out scoring the Marlins 20-11 in the first quarter and held the lead 36-17 at half. 

Freshman Jess Jennings led the Marlins with 10 points, followed by freshman Isis Moore with 9 points. 

On the glass, sophomore Sabrina Jones had a good game as she hauled in 10 boards. 

Women's basketball returns to action at 7 P.M. on Wednesday evening on the road against Shenandoah University.
