CULVER CITY, Calif. - Hanna Hull of the Virginia Wesleyan University softball team has been named Fastpitch News' Pitcher of the Year for the 2019 season. This is her second year in a row earning this honor as well as her second time making it on FPN's First Team All-America list.
Hull churned out another dominating performance in 2019 as she earned her third-straight appearance on the All-America First Team to go along with the Academic All-America status. She recorded 29 wins against only four losses, which led Division III in total victories. Over the course of her junior campaign, Hull racked up 339 strikeouts which topped all pitchers in Division III. Her ERA of 0.55 was second in the country only to National Pitcher of the Year Ally Wiegand of Illinois Wesleyan University. This year she has also tossed four no-hitters to go along with 16 double-digit punch out games. The Chesterfield, Va. native has also cleared a couple benchmarks along the way, hitting her 1,000th career strikeout as well as hitting the 100-wins mark.
This year she also earned her NFCA First Team All-America accolade to go along with the ODAC's Pitcher of the Year for the third-straight time and earned her third spot on the All-South Region First Team.
