AUSTIN, Texas - Hanna Hull of the No. 11 Virginia Wesleyan University softball team has been tabbed a Google Cloud First Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Hull churned out another dominating performance in 2019 as she earned her third-straight appearance on the All-America First Team to go along with the Academic All-America status. She recorded 29 wins against only four losses, which led Division III in total victories. Over the course of her junior campaign, Hull racked up 339 strikeouts which topped all pitchers in Division III. Her ERA of 0.55 was second in the country only to National Pitcher of the Year Ally Wiegand of Illinois Wesleyan University. This year she has also tossed four no-hitters to go along with 16 double-digit punch out games. The Chesterfield, Va. native has also cleared a couple benchmarks along the way, hitting her 1,000th career strikeout as well as hitting the 100-wins mark. This year she was also tabbed the ODAC's Pitcher of the Year for the third-straight time and earned her third spot on the All-South Region First Team.
Hull was just as impressive in the classroom as she amassed a 3.57 grade-point average in mathematics. Her efforts in the classroom earned her spot on the Dean's List for the second-straight year and the junior was inducted it to Chi Alpha Sigma, a national athletic honor society.
