TYLER, Texas – Two members of the Virginia Wesleyan University softball team were named All-Americans by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) for their performances over the 2019 season. Hanna Hull earned her third-straight First Team mention while Julia Sinnett garnered Third Team honors.
Hull churned out another dominating performance in 2019, earning her third-straight appearance on the All-America First Team. She recorded 29 wins against only four losses, leading Division III in total victories. Over the course of her junior campaign, Hull racked up 339 strikeouts which tops all pitchers in Division III. Her ERA of 0.55 is second in the country only to Ally Wiegand of last year's National Runner Up Illinois Wesleyan University. This year she has also tossed four no-hitters to go along with 16 double-digit punch out games. The Chesterfield, Va. native has also cleared a couple benchmarks along the way, hitting her 1,000th career strikeout as well as hitting the 100-wins mark. This year she was also tabbed the ODAC's Pitcher of the Year for the third-straight time and earned her third spot on the All-South Region First Team.
Sinnett was a consistent source of offense for the Virginia Wesleyan squad, leading the team in nearly every offensive statistic. The Woodbridge, Va. native has topped the Marlins in hits with 59, surpassing her last year's total of 45 in 10 less games, and leads the ODAC in batting average with a .431. Of those hits, she racked up a conference-leading 19 doubles, which also ranked 18th in the nation. Her defense was almost impressive as her offense as the third basemen cut her error total in half from last season, registering 59 assists as well. Sinnett was also tabbed an All-South Region First Team member as well as a First Team All-ODAC honoree.
