FOREST, Va. – Carla Hall of the Virginia Wesleyan University softball team has been tabbed the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's (ODAC) Pitcher of the Week for the week ending on April 14, 2019.
Hall dominated from the circle, picking up two wins to improve her total record to 10-1 on the season.
In her week opener against Eastern Mennonite, the sophomore tossed all 7.0 innings, allowing just four hits en route to a shut out victory. She improved upon that in Sunday's win over Roanoke as she kept the Maroons to just a single hit over 5.0 innings. Between the two games, Hall also racked up seven strikeouts without surrendering a single walk.
This season, Hall's earned run average of 1.28 ranks 31st in the country while her five shutouts rank 15thand her hits allowed-per-seven innings (3.83) ranks fifth in the nation.
Hall and the rest of the softball team will return to action at 2:30 p.m. on Friday as the team hosts Shenandoah for another doubleheader.
