Marlins fall 9-0 to Regional Power Goucher
Salisbury, Md. - The Virginia Wesleyan Univeristy men's tennis team came up short Sunday against the Goucher College Gophers as they fell 9-0.

After Marlins Coach Marty Perry and Goucher Coach Brendan Kincaid agreed to an experimental format of no-ad scoring, the Marlins kicked off with big time synergy at all three doubles positions. Despite hard fought matches from No. 2 Doubles team Michael Portera and Anthony Wilson and No. 3 Doubles team Andreas Combos and Ishan Chaterjee, the 2 squads fell short by a score of 8-5 on both courts. At No. 1 Doubles Mitchell Perry and Paul Gladstone were only able to snag 1 out of 5 deuce points leading to an 8-1 loss.

In singles action, Ishan Chaterjee fought a hard match at No. 6 singles where he fell short 7-6(4), 6-2. Michael Portera also fought hard in his 6-4, 6-3 loss at No. 5 singles.

Men's tennis will return to the courts March 10th as they will be taking on Penn St.- Abington at 10 AM and Guilford at 2 PM.
