Ginder became the first head coach of the Virginia Wesleyan men's and women's swimming programs when he took the reigns in the fall of 2016.

He was most recently at Bucknell University where he had served as assistant coach since 2012. While there, he provided direct instruction to 60 student-athletes while primarily working with the freestyle and backstroke swimmers. Ginder also assisted with the recruiting of student-athletes and maintained a database to track recruiting efforts.

Prior to Bucknell, Ginder held the position of volunteer assistant swim coach at Georgetown University from 2011-12 where he provided direct instruction to 57 student-athletes.

He made the jump to the Division I ranks after an illustrious career at Division III schools.

Ginder was the assistant coach for the men’s and women’s programs at Catholic University from 2010-11 where he was part of a staff that earned Coaching Staff of the Year by the Landmark Conference.

He began his coaching career at Washington and Lee University where he served from 2007-10. He mentored 55 student-athletes while working with the Generals, maintaining recruiting and alumni relation efforts. He coordinated the university’s “Learn-To-Swim” program for children in the local community as well.

Ginder stepped right into the coaching ranks at W&L after a standout career in the pool. He was a 16-time NCAA All-American swimmer and served as a team captain for the squad.

Ginder graduated from Washington and Lee University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science with special attainments in commerce in business administration. He earned his Master of Professional Studies in sports industry management from Georgetown University in 2012.

He has achieved American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) Level 2 certification and is also certified as a National Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF) Certified Pool and Spa Operator.
