Men's Swimming Falls to Salisbury; Relays Perform Well

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan men's swimming team were defeated by Salisbury University, 118-57, Friday evening at the Jane P. Batten Student Center Natatorium. With the loss, the Marlins move to 2-4 on the inaugural season.

Patrick McKneely shined for the Marlins in the distance events, posting a new school record in the 1000-yd free as he touched the wall with 13:39.10 showing on the clock.

The Marlins relay teams also performed well on the evening. The team devised of  Stephen Carlo, Kyle Woolf, Daniel Roberts and Kristian Rinkus shaved over 10 seconds off the record 200-yd medley relay time, posting a time of 1:51.38. Carlo and Roberts would later go on to swim in the 800-yd free relay with Matthew Bavuso and Jake Morgan, helping them clock in at 10:04.59 and take first in the record books.

Men's swimming will return to the pool after the New Year as it travels to Greensboro College for a 1 p.m. meet on Jan. 13.
