Men Compete with Randolph in First Home Meet
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The Virginia Wesleyan University men's swimming team hosted Randolph College on Saturday in the first home swim meet in school history. Randolph ultimately defeated the Marlins 125-39.
The Marlins saw several impressive showings in the individual events. Stephen Carlo stopped the clock in 1:05.99 in the 100 yard backstroke, just over a second over the top time set by WildCat Andrew Scales.
Kyle Woolf also handled his own in the 100 yard freestyle, registering a time of 57.86 to finish second. He finished eight seconds faster than the third place finisher.
Patrick McKneely posted a solid time of 2:19.92 in the 200 yard freestyle to finish second in the event. Also finishing second in his event was Wade Jernigan, who touched the pad in 27.64 in the 50 yard freestyle.
Virginia Wesleyan hosts Roanoke College for a dual meet on November 4 at 1 p.m.
