Men's Lacrosse Falls to Randolph-Macon in Season Finale

ASHLAND, Va. – In their season finale, the Virginia Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team fell, 19-2, to Randolph-Macon Saturday afternoon on the road. With the result, the Marlins conclude their season with a 9-8 record, going 4-6 in conference play. The Yellow Jackets improve to 13-4 on the year (7-3 ODAC).

Randolph-Macon got up to a quick 4-0 lead but that run was ended as brady Morrison tucked away a Trevor Lalande pass on a man up opportunity. Unfortunately, that would be the only goal VWu would score in the half and the team would take a 11-1 deficit into the intermission. Tommy Faiella was the only other Marlin to score, picking up his first career goal at the 12:30 mark in the fourth quarter.

Thomas Potter put up solid numbers in the defensive end, causing a team-high three turnovers and scooping five groundballs. Nathan Sheirburn had five wins at the face-off 'X' leaving him just three wins shy of the VWU season record (176).

Kyle Leeming played the majority of the game between the pipes, stopping 19 Yellow Jacket shots through 52 minutes. Philip Venanzi would finish out the game, recording a single save.
