BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University men's golf team finished up day two of the Virginia State Golfer's Association (VSGA) Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon played at Blacksburg Country Club. The team shot a 322 over its final round, earning them a 656 (+34) total which put them in 16th overall.
Taylor Cunningham was the team's low scorecard on the day as he shaved off three strokes from his day one score. The junior nailed par on 13 of the 18 holes and collected a pair of birdies as well. He finished the day with a 76 (+4), which earned him 40th overall.
Not too far behind him was Jackson Lyons, who came in 42nd after the two rounds. Lyons birdied three en route to an 80 (+8) on the day and would finish the event at a 156 (+12).
Next to finish up was Noah Phillips who placed 86th overall. He hung a birdie on the fifth and ninth but would add three strokes from his day one total that placed him at a +27 after two days. Rounding out the Marlin squad was Benjamin Diskin and Chandler Scott, who came in 88th and 89th, respectively.
Men's golf has concluded its fall season and will return again in early spring.
