The Marlin Golf Teams Perform Well on Day One of ODACs

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. - The Virginia Wesleyan University men's and women's golf teams turned in some solid score cards on day one of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships Sunday afternoon at Bryan Park. The men's team currently sits in fifth place, combining for a score of 306 (+18).

Leading the way was Carter Morgan as the sophomore shot a 75 (+3) to put him in a tie for 12th place. Just one stroke back of him was Jakob Keidel, whose +4 performance put him in a lock for 15th place. Keith Cooper was also nearby in a tie for 18th place, posting a score of 77 (+5).

Rounding out the Marlin pack was Jacob Laughlin (78) who is tied for 25th and Kevin Duffy (79) who is tied for 31st.

On the women's side, both Hannah Turner and Maggie Kingora entered the ODAC Championships as individuals. Turner tops the two Marlins in action as she turned in an 88 (+15), which places her in a tie for 11th. Right behind her is Maggie Kingora, whose score of 92 (+19) has her in a tie for 17th.

Both the men and women will pick up action tomorrow for day two of the three day tournament.
