Chris Teasely joins the Marlin men’s basketball coaching staff in the fall of 2018. Teasley brings a wealth of knowledge to the coaching staff as he has played both professionally and collegiately while also coaching for the last ten years.
A 2013 Virginia Wesleyan graduate, Teasley was a standout in a Marlin uniform. Playing all four years, the Newport News, Va. native racked up 1,343 points over his career, ranking him 14th in program history. During his span on the team, the Marlins made the NCAA tournament all four years and also won the ODAC regular season three of them.
Post college, Teasley earned a spot to play professionally with the world famous Harlem Globetrotters. From 2013 to 2016, he travelled the world entertaining crowds with the Globetrotters until he finally picked up a pro contract playing basketball in Ireland. Teasley played there for one year before heading back to the United States.
Aside from playing basketball, Teasley was also coaching. While in Ireland, the former Marlin personally trained kids age 7 and up, while also acting as a coach for a women’s club team. Upon his return to the US, he has done personal training sessions with individuals, working on shooting, ball handling, footwork and other skills of the game.
